SDS transfer / loop

SDS transfer / loop

2004-08-02 by superautomatic2000

Hi again. I've configured the sds midi transfer of samples to my
emax II, and it works ok. I've got a question though: is it possible
to send loop information with the sample? As I remember it this was
possible when i uploaded samples to my akai s2000. It would be great
if i could do that with the emax as well.

(I have an emax ii, and i am using soundforge to send samples)

If I remember right the loop points are sent, but not the instructions to turn the looping
on. After sending the looped sample to the Emax II go into Digital Processing - 4 "Mode"
and turn Loop On.

Yep!
You were right, when I turn the loop on in digital processing, it loops.
But it's not quite the same smooth loop that i created in soundforge -
it kindof glitches in the loop-points. The loop start point is correct
when recieved into the emax, as is the lenght of the loop. Anyone got
any experience in this area?

Re: [emax] SDS transfer / loop CORRECTION

2004-08-02 by Jens Hellqvist

I solved the problem with the loops. It turned out that the loop lenght
recieved by the emax was one sample too short. When I add one sample to
the lenght, it plays back perfectly.

Anpouther quiestion though - In soundforge, it is possible to set the
not number (D5 for example). Is it possible to make the emax recieve
this information and place the sample by itself, or do i have to
manually specify the sample number each time when sending the sample?

Re: [emax] SDS transfer / loop CORRECTION

The loop glitch is common. When you load Emax banks into an Emax to and it expands
them to 16 bits the the loops are often off by a few samples as well.

SDS does not allow for note information. Just the sample data itself with the loop
markers.

piano?

2004-08-05 by Jens Hellqvist

Hi agian!

I'm looking for a powerful piano for my emax II. I've tried the 9ftgrand
disk and the grand piano 1 & 2, but they do not suit my needs. I'm
looking for a bit more bite in the sound, like an old piano played with
powerful strokes. Anyone that has any ideas where to find one?
