Hi there,

i have little sampling problem with my emax I. The sampled sounds are
always a bit pulsating, fluttery (??). You won't recognize it a lot
with a short drum line, but with sustained samples. I checked the LFO
and other settings and set all values to zero. The sound was better,
but still not "original".
Do you know which settings I can check to solve that? I just want to
put the emax on, sample a source and then sample from emax with my pc.
Shouldn't be too hard to achieve??!!

Thanks & greetings from Austria
Flo

What is the source you are sampling? If the source is modulating, but you are only
sampling 1 channel, that may be the culprit. Or, if you are combining both channels
and there is a phase problem, that might also be the problem.

Hi,
i'm sampling from vinyl. Is the emax I able to sample stereo? There
is only one input, so I guessed it's mono.
I still believe it's a settings problem. How do all the others record
their samples, any special settings? (except rate, length, ...)

Are there any general settings the emax stores and don't lose when
powered off? Already tried recalibration ...

Any ideas or suggestions?

Peace
Flo

IS your mod wheel up? ;)

I sum the stereo out of my Turn table into a mono jack into the emax. Never had any problems, you usually need to turn the gain down from the default +40dB, are you running your turntable through a mixer or preamp of some sort? plugging the TT direct with the gain set to max won't cut it.

The Emax is strictly mono sampling. I searched the pdf version of the manual and there
are 14 uses of the word stereo and none of them refer to sampling in stereo. They refer
to being able to use stereo headphones, place samples in the stereo field. Are you sure
you aren't refering to the Emax II manual?
