Hard drive for Emax se hd

Hard drive for Emax se hd

2005-12-23 by misemerjesse

Does anybody know a compatible hard drive for the emax, other
than the miniscribe or rhodime.I only see the miniscribe SA
model on the internet is this compatible. They have the S model,
but $250.00 is way to much.Is the SA miniscribe model
compatible ($49.00) online. Also could somebody sell me a disk
with the PLUS+ software so I can do the external scsi zip mod. I
have some disks I got with my emax from a tech at E-mu I could
trade for the PLUS+ disk.

Thanks Jesse

I can get you a Plus OS disk, I've done it for $25 shipped for a few people on this list. I can pretty much get you any OS on disk and I can put a factory soundbank on it too if you like.

the miniscribe I have is model 8425S or 84255.

Hi Jesse, I've installed an hd from an EmaxII into my Emax HD and it works
even better than the original, it's more quiet and very very fast!
The model is Fujitsu M2613SA.
Hope you can find one.
Cheers.

Dear Lorenzo

I need your help
My name is Marcelo Simoni, and I'm from Brazil (Italian family though)
I'm trying to get my emax back to work, but I need to get my EMX to work, which I couldn't so far.
My Emax is a SE version. Although I only have a few 3.2 standard system disks.
Is it possible to have a HD working with my Emax? How did you manage to get your EMX program working?
Thanks for your help

Marcelo

If you have an Emax SE that was never upgraded to have a hard drive there
is currently no way to add one. As far as getting EMX to run, the only
truly reliable way is to have a 1994 era PC running DOS 6.x or earlier.
Other than that you can try to create DOS boot disks, run Windows 98 or
earlier in DOS mode, but that still won't guarantee it will work.
