Hi, yesterday i've updated my emax hd to emax SE with the SE upgrade 
disk (downloaded here in the files sections).
i follow the instructions and the emax was updated, and the first se 
boot was with the SE disk. After that, i've boot emax with the 
SEHD1.1 OS, wich was stored on the hard disk  and then the plus, was 
stored on the hd.
Now, the problem is: in some functions like sequencer manage or hd 
scan i get an "please insert disk" message , and when i do that, the 
message is "different software rev" 
I've tried all HD OS and i get that messages, and after that, the 
emax need the floppy to load banks and i have to reboot.
the modules that doesn't work fine by now are sequencer manage, 
sequencer setup, digital effects (se) and scan HD.

any ideas??

(i suspect that the upgrade for the hd model cannot be performed with 
the SE upgrade, but with the seHD upgrade... but i don't really think 
so)

The OS you need to use external SCSI would be Plus OS 1.0. If you do  
not have external scsi and are not adding it, then you could use SE  
HD 1.1

Sounds like the os on the Hard drive is not an SE enabled OS. So take  
your SEHD1.1 OS and copy to the hard disk according to the manual and  
that will fix the hard drive. Just remember that if you boot from any  
other floppy, it will not have the functions on the os- you have to  
re-write the os to any floppy that you want to boot from....

yeap, i've tried that, but nothing...

i'm losing my mind.
i'm not using any external device, only the internal hd.
i think that it's abug of the se update disk  or something... but it's 
really interesting, because i can't roll back the SE update, and the SE 
update it´s not working well.
i've tried everything...

maybe somebody can create a new update or OS for the emax like the 
Tycoon OS for yamaha sampler
i really wish to had the power to do that.

Did you try with skipping SEHD1.1 and boot with OS
Plus, and save it?

I remember having a problem like this trying to use
HD. I just disregarded HD and went from SE straight to
Plus and it worked for me.

But you have probably tried that already right?

I've fixed the bug on my Emax!!!

I have made the SE update disk (seup)with the EMXUTIL, then i've 
replaced SE OS on that disk with the SDHD OS. After that, i boot the 
emax with that disk and now all functions work fine.

but, when i tried to boot with the plus OS floppy, the bug came back, 
so, i'm stayin on the SDHD.


Don't know why this could be happening but now my emax workd fine. Now 
i have an Emax SEHD1.1
