Sound Design

Hi Everybody. I just want to thank everybody for their comments on this list and I really appreciate all of the email I have received. I seem to be seeing Ableton and Native Instruments "at war" (shall we say...!) with one another. Live and Kontakt are both sampling instruments after all. It is disturbing to see, I must say, products like KORE and its controller and the "layering" of samples from the different NI instruments compared with my simply working with my Emax and Alchemy on the Mac Plus! :-) I was able to do so much with that setup! Now I see "KORE!!!!" and it seems to dumbed-down in terms of sound design... "Maschine" is really disturbing. Why not just use iTunes! LOL!!! ;-) (I know -- there's more to it than that!) :-) There are still plenty of things I can only do in Alchemy that I cannot do in any other environment. Anybody else have any thoughts along these lines...? Jammie: You said you felt that the NI sampler made things easier for people and it just drove me insane! :-) I never got Kontakt (or however it's spelled!) working on my computer. I hated it! But it seems like everybody really is dumping their sampling hardware and moving to the computer as their sampler... *************************************** - This communication is confidential to the parties it is intended to serve - Truth does not fear investigation.
