Failed to install Seagate HD in my Emax II

Failed to install Seagate HD in my Emax II

2009-11-23 by drifter7508

Hi all!

I just got this 535MB SCSI Seagate from a friend:

http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/hard-drives-hdd/seagate/ST3610N-535MB-3-5-SL-SCSI2-FAST.html

After like 10-15 minutes when I try to format it says:
"SCSI software error"

Is this drive not compatible to run in my Emax II?

"SCSI2" and "FAST" in the URL do not look promising. The Emax II seems to prefer slower SCSI 1 devices...

Make sure you have the jumpers set properly on th hd goto manufacturers web site set hd to scsi id 1. I believe you have to set the hd to 1 and the floppy drive to zero on the emax. You must format the drive also before you'll be able to use it. Hope this helps.
