compatable cd rom

compatable cd rom

2010-01-21 by Mike

hi everyone, i'm looking for a ccompatable cd rom to load sounds into my e-max ll. can't seem to find any from a list i have on e-bay.
Are there other cd roms that will do the job, or can you load sounds from a computer's cd rom via the computer's scsi ?
Anyways, if anyone has a spare they can sell, or know of a source to buy from, can you please let me know? (and how much, pls.)

cheers mike

Are you 100% sure about this SCSI CD Jammie? Its a 12x spinner?
I couldnt get 2 of my 4x SCSI spinners to work.
Will it work with an external cabinet for EMAX II?
If so, that would be great! =)

Naah, can't get it to work =(
Just got mine today. No luck at all.
I know my external case works since the internal original HD drive
has been tested in it.

Just in case I have missed something:
Exactly how should the jumper settings be set?

Re: compatable cd rom

I think I have tried all settings possible if not some of the
jumpers are supposet to be placed "sideways".
Its just not working. My Emax wont find the CD. =P

Could you draw you settings in "text" ?

Are the external SCSI connection depended on the internal HD I have
somehow?

I have 2 external cases. They works just fine and supply power.
The CD's are spinning and there's power.
I have 2 Quantum Harddrives that I have tested with and they work fine in both the external cases.

Could you upload an image of your jumper settings?
Or write them down here... so I know at least they are the same.

Re: compatable cd rom

2010-02-19 by Mike

Just to add. I'm totally new to scsi and al that, but am pleased at some limited but not perfect results with the cd rom. The emax ll is recognising scsi 3 connection I used, but when scsi 3 is selected from load drive I get "not emax 2 drive". Then, when loading I then get SCSI : Hardware Error. Then, when I go back to load drive and punch in scsi 3 I get "scsi 3 not found"
Is there any info re scsi that will help me get around this myself?
Otherwise anyone have any ideas for my emax ll to recognise the cd rom? Its the cr507 from vesalia.

Cheers again in advance

Mike

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
