Panning problem

Panning problem

2010-11-11 by emax_dx5

Hello all.

About EMAX II. I am having some trouble when trying to pan stereo samples. If I select both voices and go into panning function, cursor is always on the left side altough the voice is centered. No matter where I move the cursor, even if I go for primary or secondary sample.

Things do work when panning mono samples.

Any suggestion?

Thanks,.

Jose.

PS: A suggestion (specially for those who receive a digest). When replying, It would be great to remove the text below (the previous one). Sometimes, post seem to be never ending when scrolling down :)

Is the STEREO VOICE parameter ON or OFF when you're using stereo samples ?

I assumed it is ON by default when setting Stereo at the Sampling menu. Anyway I will verify it tomorrow at the studio.

Thanks for the suggestion, as reading the manual I didn't find clues.
Will be back with the results

How the Emax II panning works with stereo samples is explained in the note on page 122 of the manual in PRESET DEFINITION 4
STEREO VOICE.

I checked again the manual and I verified Stereo mode is ON. According to the manual, the EMAX automatically pans primary to the left and secondary sample to the right, and it says when you move the slider, the pans are moving to the opposite side, this way when you reach center , both voices are in the middle of the field and you get a mono sound.

The problem is that I can't set a stereo sound slighty panned to the left or right in stereo mode. Maybe I need to set it to Mono mode and balance both pri and sec samples individually. I will try to do this for checking if it works
