Sound banks for emax

2012-06-05 by windefalk

Hi!

Where can I buy emax sound banks except from ebay?
I recently bought a sound collection from ebay which I'm not happy with. Some of the banks doesn't work at all and others are very strange mapped over the keys.

Can someone try some sounds I have "problem" with?
Not sure if I'm missing something or if they're just not working...

Regards
Kalle

Hi Kalle,

Yer i found that too, are you talking about the zip disks on ebay uk?
Some of the banks on those are blank, like for example loon garden bank is
blank and some others.
I think there are various banks floating around in various formats, i had
all the emax banks in kontakt banks but they sounding crap, recorded badly.

That's sad Rob. Unfortunately I'm not talking about the same sound banks.
I bought the "E-mu EMAX ***HUGE SOUND LIBRARY*** ( MOOG, ARP, PROPHET , SP1200, PPG ) Same sound with different envelope settings are named completely different to make up a "versatile" bank, named like "Synth basses" or something similar. In my stupidity I thought I would be sent the box of floppys (or at lease the floppys) which are shown in the ad from http://tinyurl.com/copw6et. I probably not going to go through the bank as they are all the same. :/

My studio neighbor owns a box of floppys which I will copy. He doesn't know where they're from as he got it with the second hand Emax he bought. What about sharing some sounds? Illegal? Selling shitty banks for a great amount of money should be equal illegal imo. But in the other hand they've probably have invested time and effort to make these banks...

Re: [emax] Sound banks for emax

the strange mapped ones are EII converted banks they are like that becuase the transpose engine on the emax is not as good as the EII

you have to remap the samples you self to get chromatic playing or the notes when they get to there most upper transpose limit they start to play the same key note

as for emax banks most are available for free download

or you can buy from northstar which have a vast amount of disks

but its better to roll your own

problem with those banks on ebay they are being sold but are copywrite material

as its mostly northstar banks which are still sold for the EII at $20 per disk

I hadnt seen those banks your talking about, but i see them up on ebay.com
now. They are delivered in CD format? How do you transfer them to the Emax
are you using Sound Designer or something?
Thanks for the heads up to the list though, ill steer away from those.
I think the banks i mentioned before on Ebay UK are quite good value its
just a shame a few of the banks dont work.
Id like some more PPG banks for the Emax i bet they sound great, i had some
PPG banks for the Prophet 2000 and i was blown away how authentic they
sounded, i guess because they have a similiar 8 bit sample>vcf>vca engine
they translate well. PPG banks in Kontakt just sound crap.
Cheers, Rob.

I got a mail from them and they asked me if I wanted the banks on a cd or a link to download it. I choosed the link and downloaded the banks. Then ai wrote the sounds to floppy with the emxp software.

SE update documentation

2012-06-07 by blchrr@...

Chaps,

I have the original manual for the Emax I here, but i dont have any of the
SE documentation explaining the extra features that are squirreled away
inside when you upgrade it.
Anyone got a link to it on pdf, i could do with printing it off and wedging
it in the back of my manual for rainy day reading..

Cheers,
Rob.
