I found some emax sounds a while back and when I unzipped them it had each individual sound as an .syx file. How can I put those on an emax formatted disk or convert to one em1 file? Thanks, Orlando

I can almost assure you that if they say .SYX they are "System Exclusive Data" and the Emax probably will not accept them no matter what they are as it needs the proper MIDI handshaking to accept samples. You should format some disks on your Emax and download the "Blissdisk from the Emax users group and use EMX in much the same way you used Copyqm (Exit to DOS) and save bank to disk within EMX specify the A drive and Blissdisk.em1 and see if it works for you. EMX does work but I find that to get someone a working OS disk Copyqm works better. If you format the disks on the Emax copying a bank to it from EMX gives you better results. The .em1 files floating around are working up to catalog number ZD749 above this they seem to be corrupt. There is some Emax group members talking about posting the Emax Banks on a FTP site but as far as I know there is nothing yet. Be patient as someone will do it. Skip

The LCD display on my emax 1 has died as have two of the keys(though they¹re still accessable via midi) Can anyone advise as to where to get a replacement for the display and if the key problem is easy to fix ? I¹m based in Germany so it would be good to order from a supplier here though not essential. Thanks Bob [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

My advice is to by a "new" E-max. That is what I'm planning, to by a new one and have it as a spare part sampler. It depends on that all spare parts to the E-max is so expansive... cheers/ niklas --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, bobking@t... wrote: > The LCD display on my emax 1 has died as have two of the keys (though they¹re > still accessable via midi) > Can anyone advise as to where to get a replacement for the display and if > the key problem is easy to fix ? > I¹m based in Germany so it would be good to order from a supplier here

Hi, LCD backlights from www.backlights.co.uk, an easy job with a soldering iron. Keyboards are obsolete and quite tricky to repair. Emax II keyboards are the same as Emax I. rob www.emulatorarchive.com The LCD display on my emax 1 has died as have two of the keys(though they¹re still accessable via midi) Can anyone advise as to where to get a replacement for the display and if the key problem is easy to fix ?
