Thanks to Garth Hjelte's assistance and a lot of persistence, I was finally able to download the Akai piano samples. I had been happily using ST Free on OS9, but got the Akai samples to use with EXSP AU on my laptop. However, I'm not all that thrilled and wonder if I am perhaps doing something wrong. When I play normally the sound is beautiful, but when I go past a certain velocity, the samples sound so harsh that they seem to be coming from a different instrument, completely destroying any sonic continuity across the dynamic range. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there some tweaking I can do to remedy this? I've never created an instrument from samples, but it almost seems as if I'm missing a couple of steps of timbre changes across the dynamic range. Any advice?
