Justin Sounds like some environment trickery is needed: upon receiving a note-on, send it on, filter the note-off, and remember the note is being played. Upon receiving the next note-on for the same note, turn it into a note-off, send that to the EXS and filter the note-off. Conceptually easy, but not completely trivial to build.
