I called the gang at Ilio (very helpful, as always) about Memphis horns.
There are no single note samples designed for creating your own lines, but
it is a phrase/lick oriented collection. I love the other Ilio/Spectrasonic
stuff I have, but that wasn¹t what I needed. I ended up with the Phantom
Horns from Zero G. It has some phrases but also has individual notes & some
effects (fall offs, trills, cresc. Etc) For my needs it was a good trade off
and not very expensive if I recall (Got mine via EAST WEST at around $100,
if I recall correctly).
