The only problem with this approach is that, when you have successive hits on the open hat you get an unrealistic effect -- the cymbal does not ring on realistically with the arrival of the second hit. Having a "Mute A#1" when Note on F#1" setup would be a great solution to this. Sascha Franck posted a good workaround for this issue on this list a year or so back. He suggested assigning 3 voices to the hat group and putting 2 dummy zones on the closed hat note so that note on F#1 gives you three voices sounding (two with zero volume) and note on A#1 makes only one zone sound. The effect of this is that up to three open hat voices will accumulate => realistic effect with successive hits -- but as soon as you hit the closed hat all open hat tones are muted. Regards, Murray
