If it's a drum loop or rhythmic sample you could use recycle, which would allow you to play through loop step by step in ESX. Unfortunately, ESX doesn't do any fancy real-time stretching (yet - he says hopefully). Other samplers - Roland VP9000, Kontact, Sampletank - allow you to control the pitch and speed of a sample dynamically. A granular mode would be awesome in ESX.
