Re: [exs] another bug... maybe related (soloution)

ok, I am pretty sure you are misunderstanding...

I am talking about the "mono" button that is on the EXS24 plugin page
that is supposed to mean that the instrument will only play one voice,
or "monophonically"... this has nothing to do with stereo/mono....

Do this experiment for me....

take a drum loop sample, assign it to a zone that is only one key...

make it "one shot" so that it plays till the end.

assign it to a group if that makes you feel better

choose mono for the instrument in the EXS24 plugin page.

now play the one key that your only sample is mapped to.

you should hear the loop play till it is over.

ok, now play the key, and then strike it again before the loop ends...
What you should hear is the previously sounding loop gets cut off by the
re-trigger, since it is only supposed to take up one voice...

Instead, your new trigger will layer on top of the previous trigger....

If you have to ask why I want to do this musically, then you have
obviously never programmed complex breakbeats and/or jungle beats... or
else you do it the hard way (by mouse).... I am trying to get it so
that on a single key you can get a loop like this:

b=bass drum
-=hihat
s=snare

b---s-----b-s--- (this is what it looks like freerun)

here is what it should be like with multiple triggers(key presses
indicated by "^":

bbbbb---s-----b-s--bb---s-----bbb-bbb-bbb---s-----b-s---
^^^^^              ^^         ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

and more and more complex beats that can evolve out of it... basically,
getting the key to play like this, allows me to assign it to my kick
drum trigger on my octopad... then I take the portion of the loop
beginning at the first snare drum hit and assign that to a pad that
represents the snare drum... then I can kick out all sorts of complex
beats, treating one key as the kick and the other as the snare, and when
I am not playing, the loop automatically fills in the various hi-hat
hits for me etc... and it leads to some creative stuff happening....

If you can help me solve this... I will be a greatful man.....

Thanks
