EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

I have an Envionment page contining all my EXS24 samplers. In my 
autoload I have these appear in tracks in the Arrange window. 
Sometimes I select a track to record on but when I hit record I find 
it dosn't record into the arrage window. It plays fine - I can hear 
the sounds of the EXS24 sampler I'm playing - but nothing appears on 
the screen during record. 

By trial an error I found that I can fix this problem by opening an 
earlier song & copy/paste an instrument (any instrument - dosnt 
matter which one) from that song into my EXS24 Envionment page in the 
new song. Then I can record again. 

I'm sure its something I'm doing wrong - I'm fairly new to Logic - 
how can I prevent/fix this?
