I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say nothing shows up in the "selection list." Hendrik is right in that the SAMPLES can go anywhere, and the EXSP will find them. I however, have all my INSTRUMENTS in the in the SHARED folder. Not the SHARED folder in my home folder, but the general SHARED folder just inside the USERS folder. If I move any instruments outside this folder, they are not accessible to Logic, so that seems to be the only place you can safely put the .exs (instrument) files. The .aif (sample) files can go anywhere. So if you are saying that your .exs files are in the right SHARED folder and don't show up when you try to load a new instrument into the EXSP GUI, then I don't know what to tell you. Except that you have to quit Logic and reload it if you want it to find instruments you have just moved into that location. My manual is for the OS9 VST version of the EXSP24, and it says to put them in the VST instruments folder, which I don't have. The factory presets are in a folder called EXSP24FactorySoundset inside my Shared folder. I also have an EXSP24 Samples folder inside the Shared folder, but nothing shows up on the selection list. There's a Sample Instruments folder inside my Logic 6 Series folder, but that has the same problem. None of this makes sense to me, why is it in the shared folder in the first place, and why is there an "EXSP24 Samples" folder if the sample player doesn't even look in there? For instance: if I put the Factory Soundset folder inside the EXSP Samples folder, all the selections dissapear from the list. \ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
