Wow, I just hooked up the the New York Emagic rep this weekend and heard the EVP88. During the demo, the EXS was running a drum loop while someone played the 88. I couldn't believe it! It sounded like a sooooo-FAT analog real Rhodes and Whurlitzer (sp?) in the room. I could hear a sharp contrast between the loop and the 88. It was stunning. There was a guy at the store who was there to purchase Rhodes-emulating hardware, and he is now scrapping that plan purchase an may even switch from Cubase to Logic just to use the EVP88. This is an incredible plug-in and another reason I'm glad to be a Logic-user. I also noticed that Emagic is going to release a 20-band vocoder guaranteed to definitely work with Logic. It even has an internal carrier that is midi-note programmable! No more single pitch built-in carriers or crappy performance from routing an external source. I think the EVOC20 (as Emagic calls it) can do that too, while maintaining performance stability. I can hardly wait. http://www.emagic.de/english/musikmesse2001/html/products/index.html -Jer ------------------------- Apple PowerBook G3 400Mhz Mac OS 9.04 Logic Audio Platinum 4.7 384 MB of Ram (50MB dedicated to Logic) Digigram VX Pocket sound card (driver 2.6.0) Opcode MIDIport 32 with OMS 2.3.8 ------------------------- Jer Olsen, President Global Express Media LLC "The Mecca for Musicians" Low-price duplication & FREE industry resources! http://MusicProTools.com/
