I am able to have all my samples on my large audio hard drive and the alias for it in the Logic folder. With the 4.7 release you can name folders so that the akai cd-rom's you convert are named in the exs flip menu. You can also convert whole cd's at a time. So you shouldn't have these problems. But I didn't clearly understand your problem.
