I have both and hardly use Kontakt - which of these two you would prefer depends on what you want to use a sampler for. Kontakt has some sound mangling features -- which EXS24 lacks -- and a lot of pretty lame FX (chorus, compressor etc). I would rather use other (decent) FX for these purposes. If you want to build mutli-sample instruments, Kontakt's instrument editor is a nightmare. EXS24 has decent filters and is incredibly stable and efficient for bread and butter sampling tasks. As of Logic Pro it will be built into Logic (no longer an add-on) so you can share instruments/collaborate with an even larger body of Logic users. Then there is this group which is itself a good resource -- compare it to the Kontakt forum at NI and you will see what I mean. Regards, Murray
