Every .gig file I've ever tried did convert, but more complex programs that include release triggers or modwheel crossfading often don't convert properly. Some can be converted better with CDXtract or Translator, but some will still require manual tweaking. In light of that, I propose we set up some sort of bulletin board system, possibly through Yahoo or a members' FTP, where we can post successfully tweaked converted Giga files. As I've found that Giga conversions through the above mentioned programs often create a different set of files than that of the EXS conversions, I'd suggest they all start from the EXS's internal converter to ensure that all the file names are the same. We could also include .txt files with any file re-naming or other specific instructions. regarding "how we did it." There's a huge and ever growing world of great Gigasampler libraries out there, and not every sample developer is jumping on the EXS bandwagon. Who's game?
