When I go to the options menu in exsp, and select soundfont convert, it says something to the effect of "place the .sf2 file in the sampler instruments directory and select it from the pull-down menu, and it will automatically be converted. When I try to do this, the dialog box that normally says "converting soundfont instrument bank" pops up for a fraction of a second, but goes away before it gets started. The soundfont file then becomes grayed out in the pulldown menu.
