The Maestro tools uses the Sustain pedal to switch on the legato mode where with
the correct instrument loaded with use the correct samples to create the legato
effect. Once the sequence is recorded you will find additional notes recorded
several octaves higher (sometimes lower) which trigger a second bank of samples
to fill the gap between the standard samples. The Sustain pedal simply switches
the legato mode to the "ON" state and the sustain pedal message do get digested
in maestro tools never to appear again. If they have successfully triggered
the sample switches they have done their job.

If you load a "LEG" instrument and open the edit window and play - with the
Maestro Tools active and the SUSTAIN PEDAL down for the whole of the passage
that has to be legato - you can see the switch of samples in the keyboard
display.
