Hi Bernard, I think I used Version 4.1.3 or 4.1.4. I currently have 4.1.5. The EXS24 instrument createdby CDXtract was composed of zones which had the full long file names in the file windows. These were 40 characters or so long in the case of a set of 18 Kick drum files. This EXS24 instrument would not load with these files with long names in the instrument definition and the whole instrument would not play - not just the kick. There was nothing wrong with the audio files - I could play them in other apps. The instrument created by Logic worked properly except for the kick drum which had all 18 zones loaded with the same sample - the quietest of all the samples. Due to the lack of unique names all the kick drum file names were truncated and when successive audio files from the set were saved to disk they overwrote the previous one so that only the last file remained and this was the one for the lowest velocity range. All 18 kick zones pointed to this one file. > > All giga samples with a name longer than > 27 characters (4 characters must be reserved for the ".aiff" or ".wav: > extension) are automatically renamed with a unique name.
