EXS 24 Logic Sampler Users Group

Here are some suggestions for Improving the Logic Project Manager and 
Exs24.

-I suggest a "View as Finder hierarchy" option. PM should not always 
differentiate between WAV/AIFF/SDl & SDII because people shouldn't 
really have to care about what type of file it is as long as it plays. 
At least there should be an option for viewing audio files without 
grouping them like this. If you have a library with AIFF, WAV and SD 
files mixed, it's getting really enervating having to look at three 
different places just to get to the content of one single folder.

-The "Copy/convert" and "Move" options from the Audio Window should be 
accessable from PM, of course with the "add to Audio window" option.

-The "clear" option in PM doesn't make sence, it should be renamed 
"Delete" to fit the general analogy in Logic.

-It should absolutely be possible to use samples from PM to create new 
Exs24 instruments. Single or multiple samples should be able to be 
dragged and dropped onto a new Exs24 edit window. This should also work 
from the desktop. The same behaviour as when you select "load multiple 
samples". The other way around; moving samples from exs24 to the Audio 
window is possible only by clicking "E" in each zone. This is Very 
tedious for many samples. Why not support drag and drop here as well. 
Or a command in a menu: "move selected samples to Audio window".

-In Exs24 prefs:  It should be possible to set the search option for 
specific folders, like in PM, I suggest adding two options: "use PM 
Scan Paths" and "use paths from PM Find Mode". Also I would like to see 
a dialogue coming up when Exs can't find a sample, with the options to 
"Cancel", "Search manually", "Search automatically"  and "Skip" a 
sample.

-There should be full undo functionality in Exs24.

-I would like to be able to move the zone ranges by dragging the little 
bars.

-It should be possible to see the velocity range for easier handling of 
multi layer sample instruments. What about a fanzy 3 dimensional graph 
that adds an image of the velocity zone. It doesn't make sense to only 
show key range and overlapping samples.

-Different colours on different groups.

-I would like to be able to open the Exs24 editor from the Logic main 
menu bar, making it more generic, not specific to the instruments 
correlating to a particular Exs24 instanciation. I also suggest 
implementing the possibility to switch between all the loaded 
instruments in the Exs24 edit window.

-For Multi Channel Instruments I suggest implementing 16 Tabs in the 
Exs editor as well as 16 instrument rows or tabs in the Exs24 front 
window for keeping multiple instruments loaded in one Exs24 
instanciation..

-I would like to be able to open instruments (by locating in a dialogue 
window) right from the front page of the Exs24.

-It should be possible to double click or drag and drop Exs Instruments 
from the Finder into Logic, automatically intanciating a new Exs24 on 
the first empty instrument.
