The deal with fader messages is: a message on channel 1 is received by the mixer strip itself, channel 2 is used to control the virtual instrument, channels 3 and up are used to control the 1st (and up) effects inserts. I.e. the 1st effect inserts responds to ch.3, the 2nd to ch.4., etc. To complicate matters: if you have a regular track mixer strip (no virtual instrument), the 1st effect slot responds to channel *2* instead of 3, etc. In order to figure out which fader messages corresponds to which button in a plug-in, cable from the mixer strip into a new Monitor object. Wiggle the button and watch the Monitor: you should see something like 'F 2 12 67', meaning: fader message, channel 2, type-byte (-1-) = 12, value = 67. Now transform the incoming controller data (from e.g. a fader pack) into Fader-12, channel 2. Note that the transformer which converts controllers into fader events should be the *very last* object in the chain and should be cabled into the mixer strip directly. Any intervening objects will break the functionality. If you want to get fancy, you might consider downloading my autodemo.zip (logic section of my website) which demonstrates how to use an external faderbox to control plug-ins and record track based automation, including some tricks with presets & stuff... -- Hendrik Jan Veenstra h @ k n o w a r e . n l Omega Art: http://www.omega-art.com/
