I wholeheartedly agree. I really miss the add/cue feature of os9 ... I emailed emagic about it when I first switched to OSX, and it didn't sound like they were working on re-implementing that functionality. what I've usually been doing is building my drum kit (say) with a standard bank of sounds, then replacing each sound individually as I progress through the track. It's an imperfect system, and I do really miss the was this worked in 9. Also, I occasionally do this in the finder with quicktime previews, making a new folder for the collection of samples ... hearkens me back to my old PC/Kurzweil K2000 days. aarg.
