Look at the preferences in the instrument editor. If you find something 
which matches your loops (i.e. mapping by filename) you can automap. If 
not, it won't take hours but rather days...

I think we can't blame EXS for that. How should it know where you want 
the samples 'bdrum2.wav' and 'longloop.aif' to go? But I would like to 
have a better interface where we can drag the samples around (and hear 
them and read the names) before they go into the editor.
