I find the Emperor brighter than the Old Lady.  Best thing for you to 
do though is to check out the demos that are at the PMI website.  They 
have the same compositions played by both pianos so that you can 
compare.  That should give you a pretty good idea as to how they 
compare.  FWIW, I ordered both.  :)
