I have a real grand piano here at home, but because of terrible
acoustics I haven't been able to get a really good sound from it. But I
believe I can compare the sound of piano's a bit:

I agree. I have recently installed the Old Lady (Steinway) and the
Emperor (Boesendorfer) from those group buys on Northern Sounds. (The
group buy is still on.) I'm still tweaking them a bit, because I
believe the EXS programs can be improved a little bit.

Just last night I went back to the Yamaha, because I thought it wasn't
too shabby for a sampled piano when I initially heard it in LP7. But
the Old Lady and the Emperor blow it away completely. The Yamaha is so
bland, thin... The Old Lady has loads of character, and the Emperor is
'just in front of you'.
