I just got my OL yesterday, and she sounds fantastic! I also didn't know about the Yamaha Grand that came with my L7. I have a Yamaha C3 at home, and I've always considered Yamaha to be a good, reliable, but ultimately kind of bland piano, the baseline against which other pianos may be judged, yet devoid of its own personality. I tried the L7 Yamaha side by side with the Old Lady, and my opinion still stands. The Yamaha is fine if you want fine. The Old Lady has depth and warmth and personality - I can smell the wood! The Yamaha is pure distilled water, and the Old Lady is a fine aged wine. I can hardly wait to take delivery on my Emperor, which I'm expecting to be a zesty Shiraz judging from the demos.
