Way cool!! Let's just try triggering tracks and SFX. Perhaps we could have each note on a keyboard be a different sample starting with C0 and go to C2. 25 samples in all. If possible, no sample duration limit. (one could put in a full song or a short blip as needed per trigger key) Could G1 thru C2 be looping? That is, when the end of the sample is reached it will loop as long as the key is held down or sustain pedal is depressed? If this is sample length dependent, then don't bother. As for a naming convention, for the samples, how about SFX_C0.aif (or wav) then SFX_C#0.aif, SFX_D0.aif, SFX_D#0.aif, etc. Just as long as we can pre determine where the sample will be played when we give that sample the name What is the requirement for the .exs file and the sample directory? Do they need to pre defined or can they be changed as long as they match? I.e., <genericSFX.exs> and sample directory <genericSFX> with the sample convention inside the sample directory. The goal could be to have the user simply change the name of the .exs file and matching directory so that more intruments may be defined with different samples in each. Thanks for your input. peace, --- In exs-users@yahoogroups.com, "Herbert Boland" <yahoo@z...> wrote: > pcoelho377 [mailto:pbc95124@m...] : > >Would a kind EXS24 user please post a generic > >instrument that is merely an instrument with no > >programing other than place holders for > >custom samples. > > > I could give it a shot. > > How would you prefer your samples layed out on the keyboard, how many, > and with which names?
