Re: Akai CD-ROM access problem

2001-06-11 by lescaudle@hotmail.com

This might help? Regards, Les Caudle

problem: EXS's AKAI conversion is not able to recognize AKAI CD's with
 an additional audio partition.

This problem occurs with MacOS system 9.1 or later.
All the specific AKAI data on such CD's is simply hidden to the EXS's
 AKAI conversion.
This behaviour is caused by a system extension called "Apple CD/DVD
 driver" with version number 1.4.

Using an older version of this extension, e.g. 1.3.9 (the one that
comes
with MacOS 9.04) fixes the problem.

Please note: the name of the exenstion may be different on
non-english
 MacOS systems.

PS included, you'll find a link where you can download the german
version of the extension "Apple CD/DVD driver" 1.3.9. It may also
work
 on non-german systems.

The file can be found in the file space of the list:

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
