Our user group lists exist for members to help eachother with Logic, EXS24, etc. They are not primarily meant to be marketing tools for companies, even kind companies who want to give our members discounts. Without some level of moderation I'm afraid all the advertisements would dillute our lists. We do still allow people to post about such offers. The long-standing policy of the EXS list is a company can post special offers/deals once every 60 days. There have been quite a few [OT] posts to the LUG about other group buys going on as well. > > > I was the one who suggested to have the group buy on the LUG. I did reject some posts from people suggesting the LUG did a group buy for the Old Lady, as Michael Post had already contacted us directly. Once he started the group buy an [OT] announcement of it was allowed on the LUG and there was quite a bit of talk about it here. We were unable to do a group buy with Michael in that case as we had very little notice, and already had worked out a group buy with Sonalksis in December. After much discussion we agreed to continue our 5 year tradition of only occasionally having group buys, not having them non-stop year round, to both keep our lists focuses on what they are truly meant for, and to also give members time to recover financially between group buys to give more people a chance to participate. Best wishes Jeremy http://logic-users.org
