I remember the rack, and it had a modular arcitecture and so many killer analog things on it. I would love to have one again. It was so ahead of its time, the first versions had a XLR jack for the MIDI in and outs - they wrongly anticipated what the plug spec was going to be. And it was 8 voices with oscillators that had sub-oscillators... I even had a Kitten and a Cat that the company (called Octave-Plateau) made beforehand; essentially the V-8 was a derivative and improvement on those designs. O-P was so ahead of the curve they made a separate joystick controller that controlled parameters in a A-B-C-D fashion - the joystick is even on the V-8 too. This is really before Korg put joysticks on their keyboards - the first of those was the Poly-800 if I remember right. Oh, these vintage tangents... Garth Hjelte Sampler User
