Don't care. The octave switch of the ESM didn't show up either in Logic 
6 but it worked. The solo button still doesn't send visible messages 
but it is controllable.

In this case you know the message from my mail and you can test it: 
Just take a vertical fader, cable it to the instrument. Set it's 
parameters to
Output: Fader
Ch:  2
-1-: 5
When you move the fader in its lower range (0-12) the EXS-parameter 
should change.

I used to have a bank of 127 faders to search and test parameters :)

Nothing I know about; not when you cable a fader directly to the 
instrument.

But there can be circumstances where you cannot control a parameter 
from your keyboard: Automation Quick Acces enabled or an assigned MIDI 
message in Key Commands. If controlling by an internal fader works but 
not with an external, these are the areas to check.
