After listening to the demos of VSL versus other orchestral libraries I was convinced that VSL is the most authentic sounding at this time. I think it has a lot to do with the legato tool. Also it utilises the EXS rather than a proprietary kompakt player. Finally, I prefer using reverb to having multiple samples for "distance miking". These factors have persuaded me that it's better to save to get into the "VSL path" than even such a low price as the group buy would create (although this may not happen nearly as easily as it did for the Gold bundle).
