If there is no better way, here is mine: The multisamples are .wav files, so you can directly load them into the EXS instrument editor. But then it is going to be tedious. Hopefully the samples have meaningful names. You have to setup zones for the velocity samples, means you reorder them in a way that samples belonging to a key are positioned under that key in the editor. And you have to decide which sound you want on which key. Afterwards you set up groups with velocity ranges. If you do not have information about the velocities at which the samples are expected to sound, you have to guess and setup the groups by intention. Finally you save that as an instrument (or more smaller instruments if you want to have separate kicks, toms, etc.) I have done that just once but I would not like to do it again. I had to guess a lot and since there were different velocity steps per drum or cymbal I finally had to set a rather wide "merging" value in the EXS to smoothen sudden loudness jumps - that reduces clarity of course. Next time I would ask a person with more knowledge... Anyway, if you like working with samples and EXS you might wait for "Keymap": http://www.redmatica.com/Site/Pages/KM.php I am pretty sure that this software will make the job much easier once it is available. ___ Peter Ostry
