Hi Murray, > Glad to hear things have been sorted out. I know it is getting a little off > topic but could you enlarge on the Energy XT/Logic PC thing - how do you > use these two together? While EXT is offering quite a bit more, I'm using it somewhat like in "easy mode". EXT basically is: - A VST plugin allowing for chaining/routing of other VST plugins. Like a modular environment. - A standalone, including a sequencer and whatever. - In addition, you'll find a sampler, even capable of loop slicing, but I haven't explored that yet. Now, the benefits are: - Better plugin compatibility. Some plugins won't run properly under Logic/Win. Under EXT most of them will, even if you call it up inside Logic. Example: Note hangers are stuff of the past with EXT. Example #2: Synth1 (a most excellent freebie) will recall its presets properly. - Layering of plugins. Impossible in Logic (at least for realtime useage). - Combining of plugins and saving them as one single patch. - MIDI controlling them. This actually is the best part of it. You can assign ANY CC to ANY plugin parameter manually or via MIDI learn. This can be done in absolute values (CC movement 1:1 to parameter movement) or "modulation style", so the upper/lower parameter range is limited. And of course you can assign one CC to multiple parameters easily. And of course you can still save all that as a single patch. The only drawback being that EXT is capturing all keycommands, so to get play/stop and whatever back you'll have to re-focus Logic. Pretty much a minor thing once you know it (happens with other plugins too). You can get a fully functional demo (just saving/reloading is disabled) here: http://www.xt-hq.com/ At 50 US$ it's been the best investment I've done through the last years. Cheers, Sascha
