Hello Sean and Rasmus,
I've just seen your post and would like to inform you about a more
satisfying solution for your needs: it's called the BROADWAY BIG
BAND and it is developed by a new company called FABLE SOUNDS.
The BROADWAY BIG BAND is a series of multi-sample based virtual
instruments (no sampler is needed) with a powerful performance tool
which enables real note-transitions (legatos) and advanced key-
switching features. Also recorded with 4 mic setups or more
(sometimes 5 or 6 mic positions).
Compared to the Garritan Jazz & Big Band (Approximately 2 GB of
content) the Broadway Big Band will have approximately 70 GB or more
(the exact size hasn't been announced yet), which means it is not
really comparable.
If you are a serious professional user, your only choice in the near
future will be the BROADWAY BIG BAND.
Because of the "Broadway Performer" midi processing tool and
the way
the library was recorded, it will change your workflow (for the
better) and will totally change what you could expect to be able to
do using samplers. For non-orchestral wind instruments real pre-
recorded note transitions (legato intervals) can make a HUGE
difference in flexibility and overall realism.
The BROADWAY BIG BAND offers that and much moreĀ
Another thing to keep in mind is that the Broadway big Band is fully
upgradeable to its future editions.
The audio engine is HALion powered and the performance tool
("Broadway Performer") will be available both as a MIDI Plug-In and
in standalone versions. Compatible for all systems both PC & MAC.
