I've been scouring the manuals to find exact instructions for how to expand my sample library on external Hard Drives. The manual says make a shortcut that points to you samples and place it in the Liabray\Application Support\Logic\Sampler Instruments. I don't understand how to keep sampler instruments linked to the samples themselves. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Thank you most kindly, Strump On Mac,shortcut means Alias. When you install Logic & EXS,all the "sampler instruments" as well as the samples are, by default, installed in the Logic folder,in the applications folder, but,as your samples library will certainly extand to some Gigas,it's better to: -Move the "EXSamples" folder (as well as the "sampler instruments" folder) to a big and fast HD dedicated only to the audio work. -Create an alias of each of these folders and put them back in the Logic folder, they will act as pointers to the real folders. -You can even put your samples in different places,as long as you create and set up aliases. -The first time you'll open Logic and EXS after that the prog will scan your HDs to find the new direction to the samples. After that,it will find the samples automaticaly.
