And if you have a breakbeat cut up and there is a little bit of a hihat
before the snare because the drummer played the snare late then you
could quantise to the snare but keep the little bit of hihat. I've
thought of this before. Because I cut up breakbeats. A better example
and the reason I thought of this need is when layering snares from
different breakbeats. If one snare sample begins right on the attack
and the other has a little bit of hihat before it then thhey don't peak
at the same time.
I can see the guitar strum example having this need also.
Quantising to the peak of a sound using the anchor would have it's uses.
At the moment I just layer drums in a sample editor to get the peaks in
sync.
