off. You might also try creating a dummy Zone (with no sample assigned) and assign that,

A correction to my previous post: You need to load a sample into the dummy zone in 
order for it to be used as a mute control. Also, velocity doesn't seem to have an effect on 
the sustain (hold) control. It seems that you can only turn sustain on, but not off using 
note values. However, the system I laid out does allow you to toggle a loop.
