Hi All - Does cdextract do a better job of converting Akai to EXS24 than the EXS24 (mac) version does? Reason I ask is that I have Quantum Leap Brass and Kirk Hunters Strings, and while generally the translations are ok, every instrument has at least one note (some more than) where the audio is messed up - it either makes a crackling noise halfway through the sample, or mixes sounds together (i.e. I hit a 24 violin stacato note and hear it plus a 24 string trill).. If so, using virtual pc, can I then reconvert the cdroms and replace the existing ones? Thanks!!! Eric doggett -----Original Message----- From: Rubber Chicken Software Co. Chicken System's does this for approximately $40 per job; it depends on how much work it is to do; if there's a lot of disks, we charge higher, sometimes less. Contact us privately for a specific quote. Translator has had full Kurzweil->EXS available for a couple of months, including the "hi-res" stuff, meaning that Groups are used to get the volume envelope, the filter cutoff, and rez down to the Zone level. It runs on VP 4, and includes some features specific to VP 4 that set it apart. A Native Mac version is coming. I could get CDX3.6 to see the Kurzweil CD's, but I couldn't get it to translate anything.
