Hi Igor, Thanks for the notification. Question: do you get update mails from CDXtract? Even though I bought it, I'm never notified of new versions. :-( Bye, Joeri yael wrote: > Hi all, > Have a look at www.cdxtract.com ! the new version is incredible ! > you can choose more than 1 Prg akai and do a "COMBINE function" ;o) > plus many features ! > Igor > > > *Yahoo! I really want to get my 3 or 4 premium K2000 format CDs into EXS24 format. Is there anyone who could do this for me for a fee or exchange. I don't have many disks, so not sure if having this program is worth it to me. I notice this program does K2000 to EXS, but is PC only. Will it run on Virtual PC 4? Neil Goldstein Portland, Oregon

Thanks for that news Igor. I just wish they'd hurry up with the Mac version. I don't want to run Virtual PC just for this one program. I'm sure there'd be lots of Mac customers....... maybe we should all mail cdxtract.com and push them a little. Regards - Colin

Chicken System's does this for approximately $40 per job; it depends on how much work it is to do; if there's a lot of disks, we charge higher, sometimes less. Contact us privately for a specific quote. Translator has had full Kurzweil->EXS available for a couple of months, including the "hi-res" stuff, meaning that Groups are used to get the volume envelope, the filter cutoff, and rez down to the Zone level. It runs on VP 4, and includes some features specific to VP 4 that set it apart. A Native Mac version is coming. I could get CDX3.6 to see the Kurzweil CD's, but I couldn't get it to translate anything. Garth Hjelte Sampler User

Hi All - Does cdextract do a better job of converting Akai to EXS24 than the EXS24 (mac) version does? Reason I ask is that I have Quantum Leap Brass and Kirk Hunters Strings, and while generally the translations are ok, every instrument has at least one note (some more than) where the audio is messed up - it either makes a crackling noise halfway through the sample, or mixes sounds together (i.e. I hit a 24 violin stacato note and hear it plus a 24 string trill).. If so, using virtual pc, can I then reconvert the cdroms and replace the existing ones? Thanks!!! Eric doggett

Translator works great on Virtual PC... sometimes...I bought it and it never worked on my system...and I tried everything under the sun...But I also know people that are using it under Virtual PC and it's working fine...it's not a sure bet though... I'd love to use it...I've heard wonderful things about it...for now I just look longingly at the Translator disk in my CD rack and hope for better days and the Mac version. It's important to use it on Virtual PC 4 or later. I had problems in 3, but none if 4.
