Yes, CC info is recorded on these tracks and works. You may be doing some stuff out of my domain of habit, but this has worked for me whenever the instrument track flakes on plugin automation. I typically use the Hyperedit for this sort of thing, so I don't know quite how your situation will respond to the information you are sending.
