Yes, USB. Your latter paragraph makes me a bit nervous then. I hesitate to state that the logic hardware will solve all your problems if the support is supposed to be direct with the current I/O. Still, serial support is falling to the wayside, and my friend did have a lot of similar problems (albeit on a PC). My best guess is that it would, but I don't feel comfortable stating so without a doubt. I would bet however that all logic hardware will get the greatest push and it is the best long-term bet.
