i dont have any problems with lots of samples at all. drums are just fine, cpu-wise. its a bit limited in the amount of parts i can get (virtually) firing at any one time. the biggest hassle to me seems to be polyphony. theres no doubt judging by my cpu monitor that a bunch of the sounds on xtreme analog EAT my cpu - those big pad sounds? im lucky to have a 4 note chord move into another four note chord without the audio stuttering to a halt, and even thats only possible with just that one audio instrument part happening! (how retro is that? a monotimbral synth!) im using a pb pismo 500, with the emi2/6 (im not impressed with the asio driver!) ive tweaked and trimmed my system as much as possible. mostly the area which trips me up is the balance between latency and roomy cpu. my ears cant handle the latency which some people seem to be ok with, so i have no option but to get the latency settings down as far as possible, which of course means less power being allocated to cpu efficiency. (why such a powerful collection of technology that is the pb 500/logic audio/exs combo cant outperform a dedicated hardware synth is beyond me) regardless of the time, energy, and ingenuity i throw at this system i have a daily hassle with interrupted workflow and plain old untogether grooves...grrr. andy --- In exs-users@y..., <HELP@M...> wrote: > This makes no sense to me.
