Well in the editor for EXS 24 there is a db output volume for each sound and 
I find it much more easy than Akai just use wichever db that makes the sound 
good.

I have made astonishing drums using EXS 24 so there is no reason for not 
making good music with help from the EXS 24 I find it to be great and the 
interface is so much better than a lot of other software samplers out there 
and I have used Battery to but I just go for the EXS 24 and for me there is 
nothing like it!
